Pink Mountain Flowers
The rare plants of Pink Mountain are emphasized on this website but those are just the beginning of the botanical treats that the enthusiast may find here.
Because of its unique combination of latitude and altitude Pink Mountain supports an extensive range of arctic and alpine plants and provides conditions that allow species to survive on the tundra that normally grow in more benign conditions at lower elevations. The growing season on the tundra is very short. Thus all the plants are forced to flower at the same time. A single visit during the last week in June or the first week in July will allow a botanical enthusiast to see almost everything. Please enjoy the examples below! (Please wait for slide show to load)
